AGRITOURISM MENTOR PROGRAM
Building a competitive and vibrant agritourism business means learning a lot of new skills. While that might be easy in a city, it's real a challenge for farmers living in rural British Columbia, hundreds of kilometers from learning centres. So BCATA has developed an on-line opportunity for you to learn about ways to build your business from the most experienceed folks in the business - other agritourism operators. Got an idea you're willing to share? We'd like to hear about what you do that works for you and could help other farmers.

Farmers' Markets
Zucchini Races
Want to add zome zip to your market? Zucchini races are great fun for kids of all ages! Contact me and I'll send you suggestions on how to build a zucchini track, how to build zucchini racers and how to organize a fun event at your market . All this from last year's grand champion at the Luxton Station Market in Langford -- the infamous Squash Vader. Email info@ramblingfeats.ca or telephone 250.544-4847.

Cow Pat Bingo (DUNGO!)
Looking to attract media attention for your market?  There's nothing like DUNGO! to pull out the cameras! If you have a cow and fencing for setting up at a market (on grass), I have instructions for an easy-to-manage cow pat bingo! No need to draw a grid - I have a nifty method that'll save you time and create the potential for a great fund-raiser!  Email me at info@ramblingfeats.ca or telephone 250.544-4847.

Fun with Food
Vegetable Orchestra
I admit I've never done this myself but it sure looks like a lot of fun - assemble an orchestra to perform at your farm festival or set up a table for folks to make their own instruments, like the carrot recorder at left. To learn all about this vegetarian sport, visit the website of the Vienna Vegetable Orchestra at  www.gemueseorchester.org and/or search UTube for more fascinating adventures in vegetable music.
